July Film Festival Screening--Cloud Atlas/

July 19, 2-5 p.m. Community Room
Cloud Atlas (R-rated, 172 min., 2012), a powerful and inspiring epic drama, explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero, and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future. With Tom Hanks and Halle Berry.

Alice G. Lowe, co-chair of the club’s History Committee, will provide a brief history of this venerable institution and its still active involvement in the Chinese community before showing a documentary about the club’s fascinating history.

The movie will be in English only. A question and answer period in English and Chinese will follow the movie.
