電腦遊戲或醫學院！《美生中國人》 (American Born Chinese) 的作者楊謹倫(Gene Yang) 與漫畫藝術家Thien Pham會蒞臨圖書館，暢談他們最新出版的漫畫小說《升級》(Level Up)。這個魔幻寫實故事描述主人公藉由電腦遊戲逃脫來自亞裔父母的壓力。

講座以英語進行。會後將有新書簽售活動。

Gene Luen Yang, author of American Born Chinese and other graphic novels, and comic book artist Thien Pham will talk about their new graphic novel, Level Up, a magical-realist tale of Asian-American parental pressure and video-game escape.

Tai Chi for Beginners with Liping Julia Zhu L.Ac., Saturday, June 25, 2:30-4pm

Liping Julia Zhu L.Ac., a Qigong instructor at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and founder of Qi Dragon Healing Center, will teach basic elements of Tai Chi including footwork, Qi cultivation exercises and basic moves.  Please wear loose and comfortable clothing and exercise shoes.  All levels are welcome.

華埠圖書館自從1921年開館以來，已為社區提供了90年服務。為了慶祝這個特別的日子，本館特邀前館長，同時亦是美國華人歷史研究先驅的譚碧芳教授，以圖片秀的形式介紹華埠圖書館的歷史。

譚碧芳是聖塔克魯斯加州大學的教授，也是《埃崙詩集》和《不纏足：舊金山中國婦女的社會歷史》兩書的作者。

節目以英語及粵語進行。小點供應。

Please join us as Judy Yung, a pioneer in Chinese American history and former branch manager of the Chinatown Branch Library, gives and illustrated talk on the history of the Chinatown Branch Library. Opened in 1921, the Chinatown Branch Library is celebrating 90 years of service to the community this year.

Program will be conducted in English and Cantonese. Light refreshments will be provided.
