Pearl of China (中國之珠) - 閔安琪(Anchee Min)新書發表會, 2010年四月10日(星期六) 下午2點半至4點

閔安琪(Anchee Min)的最新小說Pearl of China (中國之珠)講述著名作家賽珍珠的故事。在文革時期閔安琪自己被迫當衆指責賽珍珠。小說著重描述賽珍珠命途多舛的一生,以及她與童年好友小柳(Willow)在中國最動亂時期中的友情。

這個節目是英文舉辦的。演講後,將有新書簽售。

"Pearl of China" - A book talk with Anchee Min, Saturday, April 10, 2:30-4pm

Anchee Min will talk about and read from her latest novel Pearl of China (after bestselling Red Azalea and Empress Orchid). Pearl of China tells the story of famed author Pearl S. Buck, a writer Min herself was forced to denounce during the Cultural Revolution. The book focuses on the intertwined fates of Pearl S. Buck and her childhood friend Willow during one of the most tumultuous periods of Chinese history.

This program is part of the Bay Area-wide Shanghai Celebration. Click here for more events related to the Shanghai Celebration and mark your calendar for docent talk and slide show about the Shanghai exhibition at the Asian Art Museum at Chinatown Branch on May 22nd!

Immigration Questions and Services Program on March 27, 2010, 2:30-4pm

Where can you get free legal advice on immigration matters?
Are you wondering if you should naturalize?
Have you ever thought about petitioning your family members?
Do you want to find out if you qualify to get a green card?
Do you want to find out if you qualify for citizenship?

Cindy Liou, Staff Attorney at API Legal Outreach, will provide an introduction to immigration services provided by API Legal Outreach and talk about some immigration related FAQs such as the ones listed above.

Question and answer period follows the program but, because of limited time, individual immigration questions cannot be discussed.

劉佳芸, 亞太法律外展處的律師, 會介紹亞太法律外展處的移民服務與講解一些常見問題,譬如在哪裡可以得到免費法律諮詢、如何申請親屬移民,以及如何歸化入籍。講解後有問題解答,但由於時間有限,個人移民問題不予討論。
